Beat the Cold: Best Winter Skincare || Sexy Body

Do not neglect the skin on your body during the colder months of the year. They are equally important as the skin on your face and will give away your age despite your efforts in maintaining your visage. Make time for yourself and just do the following basics.

Body Scrub
Gently exfoliate with a divine smelling body scrub while relaxing in a steamy bath. This is the perfect combo after a long cold day. Eliminate any dry patches and flakiness with a moisturizing formula. The Laura Mercier series smell incredible (if you are into sweet scents). The fig collection is a bit more toned down but equally amazing.

Hydrating Lotion
This is so important. You need something to hydrate and protect your skin against the dryness and friction from your winter clothes (especially stockings). I love the L'Occitane ultra rich version because it's incredibly effective yet non greasy. A little goes a long way. Don't forget to put a little extra on the elbows, knees and any other areas that you experience lots of dryness.

Subtle Tan Builder
No one wants pasty looking skin. Cheat your way to having a subtle sun kissed body by using a gradual tan building body lotion every other day. You don't want a fake tan look, just a nice touch of sun to appear glowing and healthy while your are showing some skin at the gym or the first few days of your winter getaway.

Foot Cream
Just because they are hidden by thick socks does not mean that they are not dry. Complete the hydration process with some Bliss Foot Patrol (previously reviewed here) and a pair of overnight socks to help you get that spa result. I swear it's worth the extra three minutes in your routine.

Hand Cream
I'm a big hand cream addict, especially when it's cold outside. I reapply whenever I wash my hands like a maniac and the best by far for everyday use is L'Occitane's She Butter version. Skip all the fancy scents, the original is the best. If your hands are really chapped, opt for Elizabeth Arden or just a thick layer of good old Vaseline. How well kept the skin on your hands are say a lot about you.

A Little Boost
This is only for those of you who are going to show some bare skin. If you do not want a fake tan for whatever occasion, some leg enhancers can do a great job of slimming and elongating those pale limbs. For some subtle glow and color, try the St. Tropez Wash Off, and for those who are looking for a stronger effect, Sally Hansen is an old classic. I prefer the newer tube packaging which is much more travel friendly.
