Beat the Cold: Thermal Wardrobe Basics

Winter has really just begun in the northern hemisphere and the weather is harsher in some places than others. It's essential to cover up and stay warm but sometimes you just feel that you've let go on your looks. Spicing up your wardrobes really does help brighten your day so give thorough winter styling a try! Beat the Cold series will share with you guys a bunch of tips I've gathered over the years on maintaining your style and personal grooming while staying warm and fully enjoying winter.

Let's start with some wardrobe basics: shirts and bottoms. Layering is key especially since you will be going back and forth between heated indoors and breezy outdoors. Being able to easily modify how warmly you are dressed will help prevent catching a cold. Keeping warm usually results in bulky layers and less interesting pieces. I doubt that winter wear in snowy regions will ever get as exciting as summer outfits but putting in some more effort definitely beats the old parka and awkward looking hats.

Nine West Caress: Cheap Thrill Turned into Costly Frustrations

I bought those nice looking leopard hair Caress pumps a few weeks back and thought they were lovely. They are nothing amazing since my feet have always been spoiled by quality leather items but I thought they were at least decent. I wished that I shared my bad experience with you guys earlier.

Nine West Leopard Hair Caress Pumps: Cheap Thrill!

Leopard print is a neutral in my book. Leopard printed on hair is an even bigger plus. I've been on the hunt for a pair of calf hair or pony hair leopard print pumps for a long time and did not want to splurge on a $900 pair that's absolutely perfect. Perhaps I shall purchase it around Christmas. As you can see,  I've settled for a super cheap pair from Nine West for now. They are currently having a little sale on their website so you can get a pair for less than $60!

GiGi New York White Teddie Tote Review: Longchamp Replacement?

It's been a while since I did a wardrobe related post. I have an obsession with clean looking totes and I'm very particular about their shape and construction. The GiGi Teddie Totes have been a favorite since my search for Longchamp replacements began. This picture just does not do the white tote any justice. The darker ones are more accurately represented but the beautiful bright white here comes across as some ashy bag.

Summer Essentials: Uniqlo Airism Bra Camisole

It took a while to find the perfect tank top for this summer. For some reason V-necks became more popular than ever and I stick to deep scoop necks when it comes to tank tops. The opening has to be just deep enough to show a little cleavage and show off the decollate. I was originally looking for high quality ones without built in bras since most of these come with a little useless shelf bra. This Airism collection really surprised me.

Summer Essentials: Seamless Nude Underwear

In terms of wardrobe foundations, seamless nude underwears are a must. To my surprise, there are still a lot of women that wear the wrong type of underwear in the summer. If you still think white underwear are invisible underneath light colored clothing, then I must confront you with the truth.

Cass Invisibellas Amp Dress in Nude Review

Courtesy of Cass

It's surprisingly hard to find a nude slip with a low cut front and back for the summer. I really wanted one to wear underneath see-through dresses and to smooth the underwear lines. Finally got my hands on this piece last week and did a full day worth of testing.
