Summer Skincare Tips: Have You Been Doing These?

I'm sure that everyone knows these but people often forget amongst all the summer fun. Let's dig in!

Moisturize: What more do I need to say. Just because it's hot outside does not mean you can skip moisturizer. You actually lose a lot of water from your body due to the high temperature.

Oil control: Excessive sebum can easily foster the growth of bacteria and create those ugly pimples.

Protect your neck and hands: There are places that show aging later on and can be very hard to combat.

After sun: Aloe lotions etc. can really help speed up the recovery process so it's good to have some handy.

Drink lots of water: duhhhh

Sunscreen: Other than SPF, also look for UVA & UVB protection. Make sure your sun screen has not expired!

Actual protection: Sunscreen alone cannot do everything. If you have delicate skin, damaged skin or just received some kind of skin treatment, keep yourself out of the sun. If you are going outside, wear a wide brim hat to protect the face and neck. Wear flowing linen or silk clothing to cover any other sensitive areas on your body. Pure linen and silk are surprisingly refreshing to wear in hot weather. If you need more protection, consider a stylish parasol.

Anti-sun spot correction: Prevent those spots from foaming with some serum since it's easier than trying to fade them.

Thorough cleansing: You are probably sweating a lot more and that mixed with makeup and environment pollutants, is bad for your skin. Make sure to cleanse your skin properly and keep those pores clean.

Exfoliate but don't over do it: Shaving and all the time in the water can speed up your usual exfoliation process. All the sun exposure also can make your skin a bit more sensitive. Tone down the exfoliation!

Don't over clean & dry out your skin: Some people scrub too hard or use strong cleansers to strip out the sebum. Don't do it. It just makes things worse especially if you just spent an entire day outdoors.

Don't over tan: Overdoing a natural tan causes premature aging, even if you don't burn. Overdoing a fake tan just looks disastrous.
